Inside TWiT Posts
No TWiT This Week
It's been a really tough week for the TWiTs. I had planned to do a memorial show for James, but it was just too close to home for several of the guys, so we've decided to give it a pass this week.
Sad News
As most of you know by now, James Kim died trying to save his family. I know how much he loved them, and as a father myself, I know he did everything he could to ensure their survival, even if it meant risking his own life. I'm sure he'd be content knowing his loved ones made it, even though he didn't.
Kim Family Found Alive!!
The wife and daughters of missing CNET senior editor James Kim have been found alive and airlifted to a local hospital, authorities announced at a press conference in Merlin, Ore., Monday afternoon.
Missing TechTV Family Member
Still no news on James and his family. Here are the details for those of you who haven't heard yet.
October Numbers
Here are the top downloaded individual episodes from the month of October - downloads continue for some time so the total number of downloads for any given show will be around 30% larger.

OK OK!
I had no idea what a storm my little sentence would generate. Hey, I was tired, dispirited, and trying to figure out how to do a show without any contributors. I really didn't mean to scare you!
No TWiT Today
It's about 80 degrees out - in all likelyhood the last nice day of summer in Northern California - so all the TWiTs decided to play hookey. At the same time. Unfortunately that means there will be no show tonight.
Back To Normal
Our new servers are online, the DNS has propagated, and iTunes is updating. Check your netcast client to see if it has downloaded the most recent versions of our shows. In some cases you may have to request older shows that weren't downloaded. In more drastic cases you may need to resubscribe.
All Feeds Are Currently Down
A hard drive failed on one of my servers and is awaiting replacement. Currently leoville.tv, leo.am, and leovilletownsquare.com, are limping along as read-only servers. TWiT.tv and the TWiT forums are on a different server and are unaffected.
My Podcast Expo Speech
Thanks to Mark Smith at MoveDigital you can now download video of my keynote at Podcast Expo...
A Cast By Any Other Name...
I've never liked the word podcast. It causes confusion. In the past couple of days two people have told me that they can't listen to my shows because they "don't own an iPod." I propose the word "netcast."
Welcome Dell and Visa!
We welcome our first network-wide advertisers, Visa and Dell, this week. You'll hear Visa ads in all the podcasts for the month of September. Dell's commercials will begin running in this WEEK in TECH, Security Now, and Inside the Net.
June Numbers
TWiT.tv once again set record numbers across the board last month. Here are the June numbers for the most listened to episode in the month - downloads continue for several months but these reflect four weeks of downloading.
