We had to push crafting corner a week ahead, a week after when we typically and so if you're here with us today, thank you for being here. If you're not here with us today, I understand you are forgiven. You may remember that last time we were working on a project available to everyone should they wish to try it.

If you were here last time, you may recall that I said I was going to make use of my my vinyl cutting machine that cuts more than just vinyl. I should should just call it my cutting machine to essentially get all Adam asks if they're really haunted. I don't believe these are really haunted. So I suppose it is a bit of false advertisement.

I haven't caught any haunted vibes on them. But back to this. I said I was going to use it to print out pre cut. Pre cut pieces and I was able to do so. So all of them are already ready for us, which is very exciting to fold and shape. So what we're going to do is look at the assembly and it says begin by cutting out the grip on parts page one. Well, we've done that. So we find the grip, get a grip as they say.

I too question their hauntedness. Adam. All right, so let's find the grip piece. No, that doesn't look like a grip. Remember that the grip is this. I've got my trusty bone creasing folding device. No, still not a grip. These pieces out of the way.

Look at all these little pieces. Look at all these little wheels. Aha. We found the grip foreign. And it says fold the four small upper blue tabs upward and then fold downward along all of the lines indicated in green in Figure 1. This is not green. There is no color here. So what I will do is pull up the guide on my screen so that we can see the green portions that need to be folded in origami.

It is called mountain folds and valley folds. And so we're Doing vao mountain folds for. No, we're doing valley folds for the blue pieces and mountain folds for the rest. All right, so if I turn this this way, then what I need to do is fold up these pieces here, which would be valley, because you're creating a valley. Now, I don't remember which way is which. I think down would be mountain. Right, because then the point in the middle is up. Up would be valley, because the point in the middle is down, which would be a valley.

All right, fold the four small upper blue tabs upward, and then fold downward along all of the lines indicated. So we'll start by folding this up, and then I will use my bone scorer. Is it specifically the kind where you display in the embroidery hoop, or are we talking embroidery on an item in order to show it? Groundhog Day Voyager says I have no craft ready for today, but my wife has done plenty for the both of us. Sewing a pair of paintings pants right now and finished a jacket earlier in the week. You can place the ruler inside the grip so there's something to press against when gluing.

This is the adhesive used by many a scrapbooker. Glue dots.

And I mean that sincerely. You'll know when I'm making jokes at your exp. 1969 is on the cusp. I didn't realize that. Are you sure? That's wild, because that means my dad's a boomer or a cusp boomer. And I thought he was too young to be a boomer. All right, so I did that.

Fold the lower rectangular panel down over the gap and glue the triangular panel to the lower corner of the side panel. See, that one feels like it should be on the outside, but it's not. Boundaries are fuzzy very slightly. Depending on the source. Someone born in 1969 may share cultural traits with younger boomers or older Gen Xers, depending on upbringing, country, and life experience. I, for some reason just thought that boomers as a whole were a lot farther away from me in age range, and my father doesn't feel that far away from me in age range. So is it just that I'm old? Because I thought I was a young millennial, but I think I might just be a middle aged millennial. Well, sorry, a. A mid. Midlineal.

Not. Not middle aged in terms of actual age, but in terms of the generation middle aged of the generation. I. I tend to get along with Gen X folks. I wonder if it's my Midwestern name, nature that makes that the case, because I feel like Gen X folks are very. I think there's a kindness to you, but there's also a fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, you're dead sort of aspect to it. And so they're being mannerly and kind and yeah, I don't know. Not shady.

Then I can earn the trust of a Gen Xer and then it's all good from there. That's just a theory. Yeah. I'm just glad to have dogs because then I can always do the calculations of how old they are. And the theme that I wanted to go to was the last week of June, and none of my friends and acquaintances who are going were available. And so we had to go to Fantasy Weekend. Oh, I forgot to say that the theme for my weekend was pirate. So we're not going to Pirate Weekend.

However, because my pirate costume is fantastic, I'm still dressing as the pirate because the pirate that I do is Captain Jack Sparrow. And I know that something that his character would say is something along. Something along the lines of, you know. Well, I happen to believe that I'm everyone's fantasy or something like that. So, yes, I am planning to welcome weapon. Weaponize that phrase in case anyone tries to weaponize the theme against me. And yes, that does mean that I made a pansexual, bisexual Captain Jack Sparrow. Also, did I say I happen to believe everyone's my fantasy I meant the reverse.

Everybody likes to ask me. I, I. So my. I think I've talked about this before. My significant other is rather shy, and last year he was kind of like, do you really. Do we, do you have. Could we maybe like, what if you took off the hat or something? Because people kept shouting throughout the like time we were there, Captain Jack, where's the rum gone? Why is the rum gone? Why isn't there any more rum? What happened to the rum? And I will admit that, you know, everybody thinks that they're making that joke for the first time, but if everybody's shouting it, it sort of loses its flare. Especially if you'd rather remain a wee bit introvert.

It's just going to make me feel sad because I don't know. What about that last fold? The most important aspect of any Ren fair is the smoked turkey leg. If I have gone to a Ren Fair and I have had a smoked turkey leg, then I have achieved what I set out to achieve. The rest is just bonus. So. That there is a happy pirate this year. Something cool that I had not participated in when I was younger and went to Ren faires is sort of like people, they bring little trinkets and then you can exchange them. And so I have a little potion bottle that I got last year from someone and.

A little crystal. Anthony says that he went to his first one last year. That's so exciting. Did you dress up, Anthony? And a few other things. A little dragon. And so this year I, I am going to. I have this like parchment style paper. So I'm going to print out little stupid, stupid, stupid pirate jokes.

Let me see. Do I have them nearby. Printed out onto this parchment and then roll them up and put them in little glass bottles. So it's like a message in a bottle. Why couldn't the pirate play cards? It just waved. One of my favorite ones. What did the pirate say on his 80th birthday? Ay, matey. So I'm gonna put those into little bottles and then hand them out. Whenever people give me a trinket, that'll be my trinket in exchange. And it's funny because this local group, there's one member of the group that absolutely hates my dad jokes. And so I can't wait to give him one of these. And then he opens it up and it's gonna have some stupid.

Glue the two small tabs to the unprinted side of the adjacent panels and then glue the four remaining gray tabs to the unprinted side of the adjacent panels. Okay, so we'll do those two. I guess that seems like it sticks out pretty far, but just do what they say, right? So what I'm going to do is put down an index card so that I can use my glue. Rolling de. First one almost entirely missed the tab, so not great on my part. A little bit of a waste there.

It. No one likes my pirate fantasy joke. That's fine. You're probably right. I should just give in and go as a pirate. But I've really invested a lot of time and energy into my Captain Jack costume and my Captain Jack impression, and I'm just not getting the validation I was getting at the beginning of this episode. But it's fine. I guess I'll survive.

Typically what I do is I go upstairs and I look at the recipe cards for the Green Chef subscription that we have. Yes, that is a Green Chef subscription. That is not a free one. It is completely independent of any advertising. But it's a way for my significant other and me to be able to eat together and it be gluten free and we don't have to really like worry about it. And so anyway, what I will be doing is going upstairs looking at the recipe cards and then finding the one that takes the least amount of time to make. And then I do that throughout the week such that at the end of the week I have to make the one that takes the longest to make. But that's for future Micah to worry about.
