Inside TWiT

We Believe Black Lives Matter

For fifteen years, we've worked hard to build a podcast network that serves an engaged community of tech enthusiasts. Over those same years, the tech world has become increasingly intertwined with every facet of society — its triumphs, problems, and evolution.

We, the tech enthusiasts, are not an island. It's time to take a stand and speak up for what's right, and TWiT is doing that right now.

We believe in equality and progress. We support Black Lives Matter. We support LGBTQ+ communities. We support diversity in tech.

The horrific death of George Floyd is just the latest in a seemingly never-ending string of racist violence manifested in the worst possible way. We can't stand by and continue with business as usual.

We reject racism, bigotry, and violence. We stand for equality and for doing what is right.

It's who we are.

On our podcasts, social issues frequently become topics of discussion. That's because tech is everywhere, and you can't separate it from society at large. But when we do, a vocal minority tells us to "stay in your lane."

We believe everyone belongs in the lane of constructive dialogue.

When you hear the word tech, what does that evoke? Progress, solutions, leading-edge are some that come to our minds.

So, why not use the power of the tech community for positive progress? After all, the tech world sorely needs a change from within.

TWiT has come a long way, and we're proudly inclusive.

We are white, black, Asian, queer, straight, old, young, liberal, moderate, conservative, men, and women. We are veterans, immigrants, outspoken, introverted, active, and bookish.

We've made donations to causes we believe in, as a company and as individuals.

That doesn't mean we don't have more work to do. We want to continue to do our part to move the tech world forward.

Now is the time in history where we need to make change happen. As the saying goes, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

Let's unite on the right side of history.
